Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) Infographic!

It’s really hard to describe what CMT is to people. After about 2 minutes of trying to explain peripheral nerves, neuromuscular disease, genetic patterns and why your talking about a Tooth, eyes glaze over, yawns escape and the subject changes to other topics like….the weather.

Maybe a picture explains the effects of having CMT better than big, long scientific words. I think in pictures, so I thought I’d give it a try. Despite my inability to create stunning graphic images, I’m showing you what I came up with. If you find this graphic to be useful, please feel free to share!! No authorization needed!

The best visual aide to understanding what CMT is for the average Joe!

This is perfect.   Could it be a full page in CMTA Report which we could cut out, copy and give to people?  Or could it be a cover of CMTA Report?  It is so practical and not overly technical.   It would also make a great big poster at Walks and other events.   I’d like to leave a few at the doctor’s office so his staff understand.  The website link at the bottom is essential too.  Or if I can figure out how to put it on my Smartphone then when people say something like “you’re limping”, which is happening more and more often, I could say “let me Message you something that will explain it”.    THANKS, Elizabeth.

I like this but I wish it included leg weakness, arm weakness, mobility issues and the rare types of CMT that can produce blindness and deafness.
